Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get a return from honey production on my land?
If you have a large land block with a decent coverage of manuka there is a good chance you can.
If you have a small block you will need to think about where our bees will be flying. If your neighbour has Manuka, our bees will be foraging there. We wouldn't want to upset anyone.
What happens to the bees that come back to the hive after you've moved it?
The leftover bees can sometimes form their own revolution tribe and plot to take over the relocated beehive. Please let us know if this happens. Sometimes the gps falls of the bees and we don't know if we're leaving some behind. If this happens, we have a search bee that has been trained to round up stragglers.
What are your prices for moving individual hives? We only have one.
Our minimum is 400 million beehives. If you have less than this we can ask the kids to move them.
I'm in Christchurch, can you move a hive here?
It depends on what airline you choose to pay for. We recommend Air New Zealand as Jet Star may end up taking your bees to Wellington instead.
What are your hives made out of and are they safe for Humans to touch?
The hives are made out of wood. Unless you have allergies to wood then you should be fine. We don't recommend eating them however if you choose to do so then please cook the wood in the microwave for 3 minutes until piping hot.
